Can You Schedule Posts On Facebook?

The Short Answer

Yes. Any Facebook Page can schedule feed posts, Reels, and Stories for free through Meta Business Suite, on desktop or in the mobile app. Personal profiles are the exception: a regular profile cannot schedule at all, and a profile with professional mode turned on can only schedule from the Facebook mobile app. Meta's documentation puts the scheduling window at up to 75 days, though many Pages currently see it stop at 29.

What Facebook Lets You Schedule Natively

If you run a Page, the native tooling covers the formats that matter: feed posts in every flavor Facebook supports, Reels, and Stories. All of it goes through Meta Business Suite, all of it is free, and the queue is visible in the Planner tab where posts can be edited or moved until they publish.

The word Page is doing real work in that sentence. Facebook draws a hard line between Pages, which are built for publishing and get the full toolset, and personal profiles, which are not. Most of the confusion around Facebook scheduling comes from standing on the wrong side of that line.

What You Cannot Schedule

A few formats have no schedule option anywhere: events, check-ins, and photo albums all have to be published in the moment. Group posts are manual too, whether you are posting as yourself or as a Page.

Regular personal profiles cannot schedule anything. Turning on professional mode adds a Schedule for later option, but only in the Facebook mobile app, and there is still no desktop path. Third-party schedulers do not close this gap either, because Meta's API only lets outside tools publish to Pages.

How Far Ahead You Can Schedule

Meta's own help pages say posts can be scheduled up to 75 days in advance. What many Page admins actually see in the Planner right now is a window that closes around 29 days, and Meta has not explained the difference. At the near end, the earliest slot the scheduler accepts is about 20 minutes out.

If the exact numbers matter to your planning, the full breakdown lives in our answer on Meta Business Suite scheduling limits. The short version is that a month is the safe assumption, and anything beyond that depends on which version of the tool your account is seeing.

When A Dedicated Scheduler Makes More Sense

Native scheduling answers the question can this post go out at 9am Tuesday. It has less to say once the real question becomes how do six channels, two teammates, and a client review process all stay coordinated. Business Suite sees only Facebook and Instagram, and it publishes whatever is queued with nobody signing off.

That is the point where a scheduler earns a place. Maeve Social puts Facebook Page posts, Reels, and Stories in the same calendar as every other platform, keeps a separate caption per platform, holds posts for approval before they publish, and if Facebook rejects a post it keeps everything together so you can fix the problem and retry.
