How To Schedule Posts On Facebook

For a single Page, the native route is hard to argue with. Meta Business Suite is free, it belongs to Meta, and it schedules the three formats a Page actually publishes: feed posts, Reels, and Stories. You reach it from business.facebook.com on desktop or from the Meta Business Suite app on your phone, and the Schedule option sits right in the composer behind a toggle called Set date and time.

The old ways of doing this are gone. Creator Studio was retired and folded into Business Suite, and the classic Page composer now hands scheduling off to the same place. So if a guide tells you to look for Publishing Tools or Creator Studio, it is describing a version of Facebook that no longer exists.

There are two ways in. The composer route is Create post, write, toggle Set date and time, Schedule. The calendar route is the Planner tab, where you hover over a date, click the slot, and build the post from there. Both end up in the same queue, and the Planner view is the easier place to see the week as a whole and drag things around.

Scheduled posts live in Planner and in the Content tab, and you can edit the text, media, or publish time until the moment the post goes out. A few things cannot be scheduled at all: events, check-ins, and photo albums still have to be posted by hand, and group posts are manual too.

Meta's help pages say you can schedule up to 75 days in advance. In practice, many Page admins currently find the Planner stops offering dates about 29 days out, and Meta has never publicly explained the gap. The earliest slot it will accept is about 20 minutes from now.

For most Pages this is not the constraint it sounds like. A month of queued Facebook content is plenty, and the posts that suffer are usually the ones written six weeks early and never looked at again. If your planning genuinely runs further ahead than the window allows, that is one of the clearest signs you have outgrown the native tool.

Business Suite wins on price and proximity: it is free, it is Meta's own tool, and it will always support Facebook's newest formats first. If you run one Page and post a few times a week, it is genuinely enough, and no third-party tool should talk you out of it.

It starts to strain when Facebook is one channel among several. Business Suite only sees Facebook and Instagram, there is no approval step before a post goes out, and if a scheduled post fails you find out by noticing it never published.
