Start with a campaign brief in Workbench, select an asset from the Media Room, adapt the post by channel and send it for review. Then schedule the approved version. This is the workflow to trial if your current process spans documents, folders and a scheduler.

What does each tool cost for two client brands?

One internal user, two client brands with one external reviewer each, one Instagram professional account and one Facebook Page per brand: four connected profiles in total. The goal is external client approval. Prices below are in USD, before location-dependent taxes, checked October 10, 2026. Month-to-month billing is used where verified.

Maeve Social Standard: $99/month

Billed monthly, with five team members, five workspaces and 50 social connections. External review links and branded/scheduled PDF reports are included. Clients do not need Maeve Social accounts or paid seats. No add-ons are required for this scenario.

How do client approvals differ?

Maeve Social Standard and Premium let an invited client open a review link using their email address without creating an account or buying a client seat. A change request stays attached to the post version. Buffer also supports agency approvals, but its documented workflow uses invited Buffer users. Try the reviewer experience rather than comparing an approvals checkbox.

Can both tools work with an AI assistant?

Yes. Buffer offers MCP, and Maeve Social offers an MCP connection that can read your workspace, draft and schedule content, organize media and read analytics within approved permissions. Maeve Social MCP cannot approve reviews, reply to inbox messages or generate PDF reports. Scheduling can cause a post to publish automatically later, even when direct publishing permission is excluded.

What if I publish beyond the main networks?

Maeve Social publishes to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, X, Threads, Pinterest and Google Business Profile. Its current publishing list does not include Bluesky or Mastodon. If either is part of your plan, confirm coverage before moving all your channels.

For Instagram, Maeve Social supports feed posts, carousels, Reels and Stories on eligible Business or Creator accounts; a personal account must be converted first. TikTok supports video and photo posts, but direct publishing depends on the connected account's available publishing options. Some posts need to be finished in TikTok drafts. Can you import your Buffer queue and history?

Maeve Social's current guides do not document an automatic importer for Buffer drafts, scheduled queues, approval records or analytics history. A supported import format for that transfer has not been verified. Plan a manual cutover unless support confirms an importer for your export file.

Buffer’s CSV bulk upload imports supported posts into Buffer; it is not evidence that a Buffer queue or analytics history can be imported into Maeve Social.

Export what you need to keep, reconnect your accounts and recreate a small test batch. Set a cutover date and pause duplicate scheduled posts in Buffer before publishing from Maeve Social. Your existing published posts stay on their social networks.

What should you test before switching?

Take one idea from your current planning document and turn it into a scheduled post.
Create different captions for two networks, then check the media and settings for each.
Send a sample batch to a reviewer and make one requested revision before approving it.

Is it worth moving if I only need a publishing queue?

Maeve Social adds a shared place for briefs, reusable assets, client reviews and scheduling. Start with one campaign and measure whether connecting those steps reduces the work you currently do across separate documents, folders and your publishing queue.
