Finding Your Best Posts
Updated
Open Analytics, choose an account and date range, then use the top-post cards or posts table to compare published content. Choose the metric that matches what you want to measure, such as engagement, views, or clicks.

Top Posts
The top-post cards show high-engagement posts from the selected publication window. Select a card to open the post on its platform.
Post totals may be lifetime metrics. Selecting a date range can select which posts appear without restricting their metrics to activity during those dates.
The Posts Table
- Find the posts table on the network tab.
- Choose All, Posts, Videos, or Stories where available.
- Sort by Recent, Engagement, or the available exposure metric.
- Compare the relevant columns and inspect the posts you want to understand.
The default order is recent first. Load more posts where the table offers that control. An engagement rate highlighted at 5% is a display threshold, not a platform-wide benchmark.
The Columns Each Network Adds
| Network | Additional Metrics |
|---|---|
| Format-specific profile activity, story actions, and watch metrics | |
| Reactions and clicks | |
| YouTube | Watch time, average view duration, viewed percentage, subscribers gained |
| TikTok | Saves, reach, average watch time, full watch rate where available |
| Saves and outbound clicks | |
| Threads | Replies, reposts, and quotes |
TikTok's additional metrics require a Business connection. A dash indicates unavailable data, not a measured zero.
Instagram's Two Extra Breakdowns
Use Engagement mix to compare likes, comments, shares, and saves by day.
Use Views by post type to compare feed and reel views for posts published in the range. The chart uses post lifetime totals, so it can change after the selected publication period ends.
Analytics on One Post
Open the post in Workbench or the post viewer and select Analytics. Check Lifetime data or Windowed data and the last sync before reading the figures.
Lifetime data covers the post's available totals since publication. Windowed data covers the source period reported by the platform.
The available tiles depend on the platform and format. For example, YouTube shows watch metrics, Instagram stories show story actions, and Pinterest shows outbound clicks. Individual post analytics support Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest, and Threads. LinkedIn and Google Business Profile show an unavailable message in this panel.
Reusing a Post That Worked
Select Reuse on an eligible row to open a new draft with its content copied. Edit the draft, check its media and channels, and set a new schedule.
Reuse is available for posts created in Maeve. Imported platform posts do not have a reusable Maeve draft; check the disabled action's explanation.
Exporting to CSV
Use the CSV control on the section you want to export. Metric tiles, channel performance, top posts, content performance, and posts tables have separate exports where available.
The posts export fetches up to 500 posts in the selected sort order, then applies the format filter. Read the limit warning if it appears. Narrow the date range and export separate periods if you need more posts.
Top 10 Posts on the All Tab
On Standard and Premium, open All and find Top 10 posts to compare selected channels in one table. Sort by posted date, views, reach, clicks, engagement, or engagement rate.
Check metric availability and platform definitions before interpreting the ranking. A missing reach figure is not evidence that a post reached nobody.
Questions
How are top posts chosen?
The cards rank posts from the selected publication window by engagement. Their metrics can include lifetime totals rather than activity only within the window.
Why did the columns change when I filtered to Stories?
Instagram reports different metrics for stories, videos, and feed posts. The table changes its columns to match the selected format.
Why do my TikTok posts show a dash for saves and reach?
Those metrics require a TikTok Business connection. A dash means the metric is unavailable.
Where do I see analytics for one specific post?
Open the post in Workbench or the post viewer and select Analytics.
What is the difference between lifetime and windowed data on a post?
Lifetime metrics cover the post's available totals since publication. Windowed metrics cover the source period reported by the platform. Check the panel label.
Why can I not reuse this post?
Reuse requires a post created in Maeve. Imported posts do not have a reusable Maeve draft.
How many posts does the CSV export include?
Up to 500 posts are fetched in the selected sort order before the format filter is applied. A warning appears when the cap is reached.
Which post is best across all my channels?
Use Top 10 posts on All and choose the metric you want to compare. Check platform coverage and metric definitions before interpreting the ranking.
