How to use it

  1. 1

Drop a JPG, PNG or still WebP onto the grid maker, choose one from your device or paste it. Nothing is uploaded.

  2. 2

Choose how many rows of three tiles you want. The grid maker starts with the row count that keeps the most of your image and tells you how much each choice keeps.

  3. 3

Drag the image in the preview to frame your subject, then check the size of each tile and the order to post them in. Tile 01 is the bottom-right tile, because your profile shows your newest post first.

  4. 4

Download the ZIP, unzip it and post tile 01 first. Check your profile as you go, since pinned posts, new posts and rearranging the grid can change the result.

Before you export

This tool cuts one image into separate posts. It does not connect to Instagram or publish them. For several images you want to arrange together, use the free Instagram feed planner. For a single swipeable post, use the carousel splitter.

The tiles have an exact 3:4 shape at source resolution. The tool trims a few edge pixels if needed to keep every tile equal and the seams aligned. Exports are not automatically 1080 pixels wide. For nine 1080 × 1440 tiles, design a 3240 × 4320 source first.

The preview is a planning guide. Instagram can change profile crops and layout controls, and the appearance can vary by account or device. A mosaic can be disrupted by pins, a new post or manual reordering.

JPG flattens transparent pixels onto white; PNG preserves them. Inputs are limited to 20 MiB and 24 megapixels, and the output archive to 64 MiB. A very small source may not have enough pixels for the selected layout.

Your inputs stay in this browser. These tools work without an account. The content editor opens separately; your files are not transferred automatically.
