Filtering and Sorting the Board
Updated
Use the Board toolbar to sort cards or narrow the view. Your choices are saved in your browser for the current workspace and do not change your teammates' views.
Sort the Cards
- Choose a sort field on the toolbar.
- Use the adjacent direction control to select ascending or descending order.
| Sort field | Use it to |
|---|---|
| Last updated | Find recently changed content |
| Date created | Review content by when it was created |
| Scheduled date | Order content with scheduled times |
| Priority | Order cards by their assigned priority |
The Scheduled column
- Autumn planOct 14, 8:00 AM
- Founder chatOct 9, 1:30 PM
- Tuesday tipOct 7, 9:00 AM
- Winter teaserNo date yet
Descending: latest first, with the undated card at the bottom.
The default is Last updated, descending. Sorting applies within every column. For dates, descending puts later values first. For priority, it puts urgent work first.
Cards without a value for the selected field appear last in either direction. Ties fall back to the most recently updated card. Scheduled-date sorting is most useful for cards that still have a scheduled time.
Filter the Board
- Open the filter control on the toolbar.
- Select platforms, an assignment filter, an archive state, or labels.
- Close the panel to work with the filtered cards.

The number on the button
One for each platform and label you have ticked, one for a changed assignment, one for a changed archive state.
Zero means greyed out
Client approved has no cards left under the platform filter above it, so it cannot be clicked until that one comes off.
Archived is nearly all Published
A post can only be archived once it has gone out, so Archived only leaves the first four columns empty.
Selecting several platforms matches any of those platforms. Selecting several labels matches any of those labels. Different filter sections combine, so you can show unassigned content for a selected platform and label.
Platform and label counts reflect the other filters in use. If a label has no matches and is disabled, clear another filter or use Clear all. The label section has its own search field for finding a label by name.
Find Assigned or Unassigned Work
Choose Assigned to me for content assigned to you, or Unassigned for content with no assignee. Clear the assignment selection to show both.
For example, combine Unassigned with Date created, ascending, to review older ideas that still need an owner.
Show Archived Content
| Archive State | What appears |
|---|---|
| Active only | Unarchived cards; the default |
| Archived only | Archived cards |
| All states | Both archived and unarchived cards |
Archived cards are faded and cannot be dragged. If the archived view is empty, check the other filters and whether any content on the Board has been archived.
Clear Filters
Open the panel and click Clear all. This resets filters without changing your sort order. The number on the filter button counts active selections.
Sort, filters, and card grouping are remembered separately for each workspace in your browser. Another browser or device starts with its own preferences.
Questions
Does sorting apply to one column or all of them?
Sorting applies within every column on the Board.
What is the default sort?
Last updated, descending, with the most recently changed content first.
How do I find old ideas nobody has picked up?
Choose Date created, ascending, and filter to Unassigned.
Why did sorting by priority not bring my unset cards to the top?
Cards without a priority value appear last in both directions. Missing dates behave the same way for date sorts.
Can I filter by more than one channel or label?
Yes. Multiple selections within a platform or label section match any selected value.
What are the numbers next to the labels?
They show matching cards in the context of your other filters.
Why can I not click one of the labels?
A label with no matches can be disabled by the other filters. Clear another filter or use Clear all.
Why is the board empty on Archived only?
Check whether content on the Board has been archived and whether other filters exclude it. Clear filters and choose Archived only again.
Does clearing filters reset my sort?
No. Clear all resets filters and preserves your sort order.
Do my filters change what my team sees?
No. These preferences are saved in your browser for the current workspace.
