Fixing a Failed Post
Updated
Open Failed Posts, select a post, and read the error before choosing an action. Check the account and scheduled time so you recover the intended channel version.

Reconnect the affected account before retrying this post.
Retry a Post
- Resolve any account or service issue named in the error.
- Return to the failed post.
- Click Retry post when it is available.
- Check the publishing result after the new attempt.
Retry uses the saved content and account and starts another publishing attempt now. To change rejected content or choose a later time, use the recovery option offered for that post.
Leaving the failed list after a retry request does not by itself confirm that the network published the post.
Edit and Reschedule
- Click Edit & Reschedule.
- For a platform rejection, correct the issue identified in the error.
- Choose a new publishing time in the composer.
- Complete the scheduling action and check the updated post.
For a missed schedule, the same button opens recovery for a new time. Content editing is enabled for Rejected by platform recovery, while a missed schedule uses rescheduling mode.
Reconnect the Account
- Click Reconnect for the affected platform.
- Complete the connection steps for that account.
- Return to Failed Posts.
- Open the affected post and click Retry post once the restored connection is recognized.
Reconnect the account once, then handle each failed post that used it. Reconnecting does not republish those posts automatically.
Resolve a Billing Block
If the error says X trial publish limit reached, click Upgrade and complete the required billing change. Return to the failed post afterward and use the available recovery action.
For Credits depleted, follow the error's instruction to top up the X developer account. Adding Maeve AI credits does not fix that error.
Check a Failed X Thread
When the recovery dialog asks you to confirm cleanup:
- Open the affected account on X.
- Find the posts from the failed attempt and delete every part that published.
- Return to Maeve and select I deleted it on X only after checking.
- Continue editing and rescheduling.
If you have not completed the check, choose Go back. The dialog is a cleanup check; its appearance does not prove that part of the thread is live.
Delete a Failed Post
Click Delete when the control is available and you no longer want to recover the post. The control submits the deletion immediately, so check the selected account and post first.
If publishing left part of a thread live, check the network separately. Removing a failed entry is not a substitute for the X cleanup steps above.
Check Whether Recovery Is Manual
Maeve can retry temporary problems while a publishing job is still active. A post marked failed with recovery controls needs a manual action.
Fixing a connection or billing issue does not automatically resend posts that already failed. Return to the list and retry or reschedule each post as needed.
Check Your Access
Editors and Managers can use recovery controls when the post allows them. Creators and Viewers cannot retry, edit and reschedule, delete, or confirm a publishing result. Reconnection also depends on your channel permissions.
Questions
Which action will I be offered?
Read the error and use the available control: Retry post, Edit & Reschedule, Reconnect, Confirm result, or Upgrade. The post state and your role also affect availability.
Does retrying change anything about the post?
Retry uses the saved content and account and starts a new publishing attempt now.
Why does one failure offer edit and another offer retry?
Platform rejection recovery allows content changes. A missed schedule needs a new time. Retry starts another attempt with the saved content.
Do I have to reconnect once per failed post?
No. Reconnect the affected account once, then return and recover each failed post that used it.
Are failed posts retried automatically?
Maeve can retry temporary issues while a publishing job is active. Posts marked failed with manual recovery controls need you to retry or reschedule them.
I fixed the connection. Will the posts publish now?
No. Return to Failed Posts and recover the posts that failed before you fixed the connection.
Why is Maeve asking me to delete something on X?
An X thread may have published partially. Editing and rescheduling publishes the whole thread again, so check X and remove every live part of the failed attempt before confirming cleanup.
Can a Creator retry a failed post?
No. Retry is available to Editors and Managers when the post allows it.
