Add an Existing Post

  1. Select the Instagram account.
  2. Click Import existing post.
  3. Choose Post, Reel, or Carousel.
  4. Select media from Media room or upload the files.
  5. Set Planned or posted at.
  6. Add a caption or note, then click Save.

This creates a manual feed item in Maeve. It does not publish or import a live post from Instagram using a URL.

The caption or note supports up to 2,200 characters. A manual feed item supports up to 10 media items.

Set the Time

Planned or posted at is required. A future date places a manual item in Planning; a date that has passed places it in Posted.

Confirmed published at is optional. Use it to record a known publishing time, or leave it blank. You can clear it with Clear confirmed time. Entering a date does not schedule the manual item for publishing.

Pin an Item in the Preview

Use an item's pin action in Posted to keep it ahead of the unpinned feed items. Grid Planner supports up to three pinned items per account. Unpin an item before adding a fourth.

A future manual item cannot be pinned while it is in Planning.

Pinning in Grid Planner changes the Maeve preview. It does not pin the live post on Instagram. Keep the preview's pins aligned with the account yourself.

Mark a Collaborator Post

  1. Open the manual feed item.
  2. Turn on Collaborator post.
  3. Enter the collaborator handle and display name as needed.
  4. Click Save.

This records the collaborator details in the preview. It does not invite a collaborator or change the live Instagram post.

Edit or Delete Manual History

Open a manual item to update its media, dates, or notes, then click Save. To remove it, use Delete and confirm the deletion.

Deleting manual history removes that item from the grid. It does not delete the files from the Media Room or anything published on Instagram.

Posts represented by Maeve content are not editable through the manual feed form. Open the post to see the actions available for its current state.

Questions

What is in the Posted section?

Published content available to Maeve and manual feed items whose placement date has passed, with pinned items first.

Why would I add a post manually?

To represent a post that is missing from the grid preview, such as older content or a collaborator post.

What is the difference between planned time and confirmed time?

Planned or posted at is required and determines whether a manual item belongs in Planning or Posted. Confirmed published at optionally records a known publishing time.

How many posts can I pin?

Up to three items per account in the Grid Planner preview. These pins do not change Instagram.

Why can I not pin this item?

A future manual item cannot be pinned. You also need a free pin slot and Editor or Manager access.

What is a collaborator post?

Use the collaborator fields to record another account on a manual item. This does not send an Instagram collaboration invitation.

Can I edit a post Maeve published from here?

The manual feed form edits manual items only. Open Maeve content separately to see its available actions.

How many images can a manual carousel hold?

A manual feed item supports up to ten media items.
