Workspace Knowledge and Instructions
Updated
Open Settings > Knowledge under Maeve to review the information available to the assistant. This includes workspace sources and instructions you save for future requests.

Under From your workspace, open a source to check or update its information.

Update the information on its original screen. For example, edit your Strategy foundation when your audience or positioning changes.
Add a Saved Instruction
- In Knowledge, scroll to Saved instructions.
- Click Add instruction.
- Choose a Type, such as Writing rule or Product fact.
- Enter the text in Instruction or fact.
- Click Add instruction to save it.
For a writing rule, you could enter:
Use short paragraphs. Avoid the phrase "limited time only" unless the brief gives a specific closing date.
For a product fact, record a detail Maeve should use consistently. Keep temporary details in the current request unless you intend to maintain them as saved facts.
Each instruction can contain up to 4,000 characters. You can choose a custom type if the available types do not fit; its name can be up to 120 characters.
Edit or Stop Using an Instruction
Use Edit on an instruction to replace its text, then click Save instruction.
To stop using it, choose Archive and confirm. Maeve stops using that saved instruction when drafting. Archiving it does not rewrite captions already saved.
Check the Effect in a New Request
Return to Ask Maeve and ask for a draft using the updated information. Review the result for accuracy and tone. If a fact is wrong, correct its source or the saved instruction rather than repeating the correction in every chat.
A message in a conversation does not automatically become a saved instruction. Use Add instruction for guidance you want available beyond that conversation.
Workspace Managers and organization Owners or Admins can manage saved instructions. Other members may read the Knowledge page without seeing editing controls.

Where do I set what Maeve knows about the business?

Should I paste my whole strategy into an instruction?
Update the Strategy source itself. Use saved instructions for additional guidance or facts that are not already maintained there.
What instruction types can I add?

Can I change a saved instruction?
Yes. Choose Edit, replace the text and click Save instruction.
How do I stop Maeve using an instruction?
Archive it from Saved instructions and confirm. Existing captions are unchanged.
Does telling Maeve something in chat save it permanently?
A conversation message does not automatically become a saved instruction. Add it through Knowledge if it should be available for future requests.
