Set the Cadence

  1. Open the cadence settings from the Retros header.
  2. Choose How often: weekly, every two weeks, every three weeks, or every four weeks.
  3. Choose Which day, including weekends if needed.
  4. Check Next retro.

Settings save when you change them. The displayed date helps you plan the review; it does not create a social publishing schedule.

Start and Review a Session

Open the current retro and use its start control when available. Review the period summary before adding discussion points.

The summary includes available metrics and changes from the previous period, content published by platform and format, overlapping goals, and bets ready to resolve.

Read any unavailable-data message. Missing data does not mean the result is zero. Check the period and account coverage before comparing figures.

Add Discussion Cards

Add a card under the appropriate column:

ColumnWhat to Record
What went wellA result or practice to continue
What didn't go so wellA problem to investigate or change
What will we do nextA proposed next step

Workspace members can contribute to an active session. Move cards between columns when needed and use reactions to respond to a point. Reactions include approval, celebration, ideas, and concern.

Record Actions

  1. Enter a specific action in the actions area.
  2. Choose its owner.
  3. Use the add action control.
  4. Mark the action complete when the work is done.

A discussion card does not automatically become an assigned action. Add the action separately when you want an owner and completion state.

Review prior actions in the next session. For an unfinished action, use Carry forward when you want it included in the current retro. The control changes to carried forward after it has been added.

Resolve Bets

Review the bets ready to resolve for the period. An Editor or Manager can resolve metric-based bets from their data or record the result of a manual bet. You can also resolve bets in the Bets section; a retro is not required.

Complete the Retro

  1. Review the cards, actions, and bet results.
  2. Click Complete retro when the session is finished.
  3. Open the archive to read the completed session later.

Completed retros retain their recorded discussion and outcomes. Review open actions again at the next session rather than assuming completion of the retro means all its work is done.

Questions

How often should we run a retro?

Choose weekly or every two, three, or four weeks in cadence settings. Select any day of the week.

Do I have to prepare anything?

Maeve provides the available period summary. Review its dates, coverage, and unavailable-data messages, and bring any context the metrics do not capture.

What are the three columns?

What went well, What didn't go so well, and What will we do next.

What are reactions for?

Use reactions to respond to discussion cards, including support, ideas, or concern.

What happens to actions?

Actions have an owner and completion state. Review prior actions and use Carry forward for unfinished work you want in the current session.

Why resolve bets in the retro rather than when they expire?

You can resolve bets either in Bets or during a retro. The retro lets you review the result alongside the period discussion.

Why does a metric say unavailable instead of zero?

The required data is unavailable or insufficient. Read the explanation rather than treating it as a zero result.

What happens when I complete a retro?

The session becomes complete and remains available in the archive with its recorded cards, actions, and outcomes.
