ListView tasks in rows, sort them, and compare due dates.

Board and List show the same active tasks. Archiving a task removes it from these views without deleting it.

Add or Rename Columns

A new board starts with Backlog, In Progress, Review and Done. You can rename and reorder these columns, and add custom columns up to a total of eight.

  1. Click Edit at the top of the task board to open Task columns.
  2. Enter a name in Column name, then click Add column.
  3. To rename an existing column, click its edit icon, enter the new name, and click its save icon.
  4. Drag a column by its handle to change its position.

Column names can be up to 40 characters. You can also rename a column from its three-dot menu on the board: choose Rename, enter the name, and click Save.

Renaming Done keeps its role as the completed-task column. Use that column when you finish a task, even if you have given it a different name.

Delete a Custom Column

  1. Move every task out of the column. Check Archive for archived tasks that still belong to it; restore and move any you want to keep.
  2. Open the custom column's three-dot menu and choose Delete column.
  3. Confirm the deletion.

You can only delete an empty custom column. The four default columns cannot be deleted, and archived tasks still count when Maeve checks whether a column is empty.

Archive Finished Tasks

  1. Open the Done column's three-dot menu.
  2. Choose Archive all done tasks.
  3. Check the task count in the confirmation, then confirm.

To archive one task, open it and click Archive. To bring it back, switch to Archive, open the task, and click Restore.

Filter Tasks

Open the filter menu in Board or List and choose the tasks you want to see.

UrgencyUrgent, High, Medium or Low

Select a filter again to remove it, or clear all filters to show the full board. Task labels are shared with posts and media in the same workspace.

Who Can Make Changes

Managers and Editors can create and edit tasks and manage columns. Other workspace roles can read the board.

Questions

How is the task board different from the Content Board?

The task board tracks work you move between columns yourself. The Content Board shows posts in columns based on their publishing and approval status.

What views are there?

Board, List and Archive. Board and List show active tasks; Archive shows tasks you have archived.

Can I change the columns?

Yes. Open Edit to rename or reorder columns and add custom columns. You can have up to eight columns in total.

Why can I not delete this column?

Only custom columns can be deleted, and they must have no active or archived tasks. The four default columns cannot be deleted.

How do I clear out finished work?

Open the Done column menu, choose Archive all done tasks, and confirm the count. You can restore them from Archive later.

What can I filter by?

Urgency, assignment, specific users and workspace labels. Filters are available in Board and List.

Are task labels the same as post labels?

Yes. Tasks use the same workspace labels as posts and media.

Who can change tasks?

Managers and Editors can change tasks and columns. Other workspace roles can read the board.
