Create and Open a Draft

  1. Open your Content table and click New row.
  2. Enter a title in the Title cell.
  3. Open the row to work on the post.

The draft is created as soon as you add the row. Changes you make to it also appear wherever the same post is used, including other tables.

Write the Post

Use the tabs beside the content to move between its sections.

TabWhat You Can Do
CaptionsChoose channels, write captions and add media
ScheduleSet publishing dates and times
NotesKeep working notes for the post
TasksCreate and open linked tasks
AnalyticsRead results when a channel version has published

Click Comments to open the post's discussion alongside it. Use the breadcrumb above the content to return to the table.

For the full post-writing steps, see Creating Posts.

Check Where a New Draft Appears

Table LocationWhere a New Draft Starts
A Workspace page outside a private folderOn the table and the Content Board
A Private pageOn the table, off the Content Board
A page inside a private folderOn the table, off the Content Board

This is the starting placement of a new draft. Dating it, saving a channel version or adding it to the Content Board can make the post visible elsewhere in the workspace. See Spaces, Folders and Access.

Add a Post to the Content Board

  1. Return to the table and open the row's menu.
  2. Choose Add to board and complete the confirmation.
  3. Use View in content board from the same menu to open it there.

The post appears in the Content Board column for its current stage. Adding it to the board does not change its status.

Review and Schedule

Open the row and use its approval controls when the post needs review. Set its publishing time in Schedule, then complete the scheduling or publishing action in the editor.

The table's live columns update from the post. You cannot send a post for review or schedule it by typing a value into Status or Date Scheduled.

After publication, open the row to view the published content and available results. Analytics depend on the channels and data available for that post.

Find the Post on Other Tables

If the post also appears on other tables you can access, the header lists them under Also on. Select a table to open the post there.

Managers and Editors can create rows and work on posts from accessible tables.

Questions

Is a content table row a real post?

Yes. The row links to the post itself. Editing its captions changes that post wherever it appears in Maeve.

What can I do from inside a row?

Write captions, add media, set a schedule, keep notes, manage linked tasks and read comments. Analytics appear when a channel version has published.

Does a new row appear on the Content Board?

A new draft appears on the Content Board when created on a Workspace page outside a private folder. Drafts created on restricted pages start off the board.

How do I put a row on the board afterwards?

Open the row menu, choose Add to board, and complete the confirmation. Its publishing status stays the same.

Does adding an existing post to a private table hide it?

No. Adding an existing post to a table does not change where it already appears.

Can I tell if content is on other tables?

Yes. Also on in the header lists other tables you can access. Select one to open the post there.

Can I publish without leaving the Workbench?

Yes. Open the row and use the editor's schedule or publish controls.

Can I set a row's status by hand?

No. Status reads the post's current stage. Use the post's review, scheduling or publishing controls to change it.

Who can create content from a table?

Managers and Editors who can access the table.
