Social media character counter
Check the text you wrote against a selected post limit. See the difference between visible characters, Unicode code points, bytes and platform counts, with your draft kept in this browser.
Nothing written yet
Spaces and line breaks count. Up to 20,000 UTF-16 units. Nothing is saved when you leave.
Length check for X standard post
0 of 280 X weighted characters for X standard post
Add text to check the length.
Platforms
Uses official twitter-text rules for NFC, weights and URLs at 23 characters, plus 2-weight emoji sequences recognised by this browser's RGI data. Browsers without that support use the older parser conservatively; the native composer can differ. Premium long posts and automatic reply mentions are outside this mode. Checked 15 October 2026. Formatting characters

Joiners can be part of emoji and script shaping, and direction marks help right-to-left writing, so check them in context before removing anything.
How to use it
- 1
Write or paste your draft. Every platform shows its count and whether the draft fits as you type.
- 2
Choose a platform to see its rule, any byte limit and a link to the official source.
- 3
Check the counts and any hidden formatting characters, then copy your draft or split a longer one into a thread.
Before you export
A length check cannot guarantee acceptance by a publishing API or predict where a platform hides text behind “see more”. Account features and destinations can have separate rules. Empty text may be valid when you attach media.

Your inputs stay in this browser. These tools work without an account. The content editor opens separately; your files are not transferred automatically.
