SRT and VTT subtitle converter

Convert existing UTF-8 SRT and WebVTT subtitles locally. Apply a timing offset while preserving cue text, cue order and intentional overlaps.

Source file

Or paste UTF-8 subtitle text into the original field. Cue text is displayed as plain text.

Conversion

Output format

Positive delays subtitles. Negative moves them earlier. Up to three decimal places.

This converts existing captions. It does not transcribe audio, translate text or reproduce every player’s styling.

How to use it

  1. 1

Open a UTF-8 SRT or VTT file, or paste its text into the original field.

  2. 2

Choose the output format and an optional timing offset in seconds.

  3. 3

Review the converted text and any format warnings, then download the subtitle file.

Before you export

Limits are 1 MB of input text, 10,000 cues and timestamps below 100 hours. Invalid timestamps and offsets that move cues before zero block export rather than clipping cues.

Cue identifiers are regenerated or omitted. WebVTT styles, regions, notes and positioning settings are omitted with warnings. Markup is preserved as text and may render differently across players. Review the output in the player where you intend to use it.
