Engagement by Posting Time
- Find a day and hour in the weekly grid.
- Hover over the cell to read average engagement, total engagement, and post count.
- Compare cells with enough posts to contribute to the ranking.
Darker cells indicate higher average engagement per post. The score uses an average, so publishing more often in an hour does not by itself give it a higher rank.
Posting times are grouped in the workspace timezone.
Comparing Times
The grid describes posts you have already published. An empty hour provides no evidence about how a future post would perform there. Compare results over several periods and test promising hours with similar content.
Content Performance
Choose Labels, Groups, Pillars, or Formats to change the grouping. Each row summarizes posts assigned to that category.
| Grouping | What It Uses |
|---|---|
| Labels | Labels attached to posts |
| Groups | The groups those labels belong to |
| Pillars | Assigned content pillars |
| Formats | Assigned content formats |
Compare the post count alongside reach, views, clicks, engagement, and engagement rate where available. Select a column to sort. The last-post date shows when the category was most recently used.
Available Columns
Maeve currently shows reach in this table for Instagram and the combined view. The click column is available on supported platforms, including Facebook, Pinterest, and LinkedIn Pages. Hidden columns do not imply zero results.
On All, a metric may cover only the accounts that report it. Check coverage before comparing categories with different platform mixes.
Unclassified Posts
Only posts assigned to the selected classification appear in that grouping. A post without labels will not contribute to a label row, but it may appear under an assigned pillar or format.
Categories can overlap when posts have several labels. Do not add the rows together and expect them to equal the account total.
Exporting the Results
Use the CSV control on Content performance to export the current grouping and visible columns. Keep the selected period and account coverage with the export so the comparison can be reproduced.
Questions
How is the posting time heatmap scored?
Cells are ranked by average engagement per post, relative to eligible cells in the grid.
Why are some cells grey?
Cells with fewer than three posts are gray and excluded from the ranking. Hover to check the sample size.
What timezone does the heatmap use?
The workspace timezone.
Can the heatmap tell me the best time to post?
It compares the posting hours you have used. It cannot assess hours with no posts or guarantee future results. Use it to choose times to test.
What can I group content performance by?
Labels, label groups, content pillars, and formats.
Why is the reach column missing?
This table currently shows reach for Instagram and the combined view. Other tabs hide unsupported columns; this is not a zero result.
Why do my numbers here not add up to my account totals?
The table includes only classified posts, and categories can overlap. Metric coverage can also vary by platform.
Can I export content performance?
Yes. Use the section's CSV control to export the selected grouping and visible columns.
