Create the Campaign
- Open Campaigns in your workspace.
- Click New campaign.

The name and dates are required. The end date can match the start date for a single-day campaign, but it cannot be earlier.
Fill In the Details
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Name | A name up to 160 characters, unique among unarchived campaigns in the workspace |
| Color | The color used beside the name and on the timeline |
| Start and end dates | The planned campaign period |
| Target platforms | The networks you intend to use |
| Estimated budget | Your planned spending |
| Actual budget | The amount spent, entered manually |
| Currency | A three-letter currency code, such as AUD |
| Goal | A short statement of the intended result, up to 500 characters |
| Brief | Formatted instructions and background, up to 20,000 characters |
For example, use the goal to record a target number of event registrations. Use the brief for the audience, offer, and details that writers need to include.
Budget amounts accept up to two decimal places. Maeve does not automatically fill them from advertising spend. Target platforms are planning details and do not restrict which posts you can link.
Check the Status
Maeve derives the status from the campaign dates and today's date in the workspace timezone.
| Status | When it applies |
|---|---|
| Upcoming | Before the start date |
| Live | From the start date through the end date, inclusive |
| Ended | After the end date |
You do not select a status manually. To change the planned period, open the campaign, click Edit, update its dates, and click Save campaign.
Add Phases and Content
Open Manage phases if you want to divide the campaign into stages. Then link content to the campaign and optionally assign each post to a phase.
To hide a finished campaign from the active list, archive it. Archiving is separate from its date-based status.
Questions
What plan do I need for campaigns?
Campaigns are available on every plan. Creating and editing requires Editor or Manager access, including organization Admin or Owner access.
Which fields are required?
The name, start date, and end date are required. You can add other details later.
Can two campaigns have the same name?
Unarchived campaign names must be unique within the workspace. Archived campaigns do not reserve their names.
How do I set a campaign to live or ended?
The status is calculated from the dates in your workspace timezone. Edit the dates if the campaign period changes.
How do I end a campaign early?
Edit the campaign, move the end date, and save. Check linked posts separately if their scheduled times also need changing.
What is the difference between the goal and the brief?
The goal states the intended result. The brief contains the background and instructions needed to create the content.
Does the budget track spend automatically?
No. Enter estimated and actual spending yourself.
Do target platforms restrict what I can link?
No. Target platforms record your intended networks and support filtering in the campaigns list.
