Adding Content to the Board
Updated
Most content created in Maeve appears on the Board automatically. Use a column's plus menu to create a post or add eligible content that is not on the Board yet.
Create New Content
- Click the plus icon in any column header.
- Select Add new content.
- Write the post in the composer.
- Save it as an idea or draft, or complete an available review or publishing action.

Add existing content
Opens the sheet of posts that are not on the Board. Managers and Editors only.
The column does not carry over
A post started from this plus begins as an idea, the same as one started from the Idea column.
The column where you clicked does not set the new post's stage. Its saved state determines where the card appears. Creating from Published does not publish the post.
Creators, Editors, and Managers can create drafts. Viewers do not see the plus control. Adding existing content requires Editor or Manager access, including organization Admin or Owner access.
Add Existing Content
- Click the plus icon in a column header.
- Select Add existing content.
- Search or filter the available posts.
- Select up to 100 posts.
- Click the add button showing your selection count.

Search matches titles, content, platforms, and account details. Use the workflow status filter to narrow the results. A platform filter appears when multiple platforms are available.
Each selected post enters the column for its current state. Adding it does not change its status or scheduled time.
Check Which Content Is Eligible
The picker shows accessible content that is not already on the Board. Imported network posts, archived content, and platform-deleted content are excluded. Content associated with disconnected accounts may also be unavailable.
If you see Nothing to add yet, clear the sheet's filters first. If it remains empty, check whether the post is already on the Board, archived, or imported.
Add a Workbench Draft
A draft created on a Workbench page that is not visible to the workspace can remain off the Board. This includes a page inside a private folder.
Content created through the composer, calendar, or Grid Planner normally joins the Board. API, CLI, and assistant workflows can also create content on the Board, depending on their inclusion settings.
Hide Content You No Longer Need to See
The Board has no action to remove only a post's Board membership after adding it. Use filters to narrow your view. Archived content is hidden by default, but archiving changes the post itself rather than just your Board view.
See Filtering and Sorting to show active or archived content without changing it.
Questions
Does everything I create appear on the Board?
Most content does. Workbench drafts created in private pages or folders can remain off the Board. Imported network posts are excluded, and automation can set Board inclusion.
Why is my post not on the Board?
Check filters, archive state, and whether Review is hidden. For an eligible Workbench draft that was kept off the Board, use Add existing content.
I made the Workbench page visible. Why is the draft still missing?
Visibility changes do not automatically add earlier drafts. Use Add existing content for eligible drafts.
How do I add something that is not on the Board?
Click a column's plus icon, select Add existing content, choose up to 100 posts, and confirm with the add button.
What can I search in the Add existing sheet?
Title, content, platform, and account details.
Which column does an added post land in?
The column matching its current state. Adding content does not change its status or publishing time.
The Add existing sheet is empty. Is something wrong?
Clear the sheet's filters. The picker excludes content already on the Board and ineligible items such as imported or archived posts.
Can I take something off the Board?
There is no action to remove only Board membership. Use filters to hide content from your view, or archive eligible posts if that is the intended content action.
Who can add content to the Board?
Editors and Managers can add existing content. Creators can create new drafts from the Board. Viewers cannot add content.
