Reordering Scheduled Posts

Use Coming up in Grid Planner to change the order of upcoming Instagram posts. The list includes scheduled posts and pending posts with a scheduled time, with the earliest time first.

Change the Order

1. Select the Instagram account.
2. Find the posts in Coming up.
3. Drag a post to its new position within that list.
4. Check the updated times after the change saves.

Maeve reassigns the existing scheduled times to match the new order. It does not create extra time slots.

For example, moving the last of these three posts to the first position gives:

The same three times remain in use. Posts whose assigned time does not change keep their schedule.

Check a Failed Reorder

If Maeve shows Reorder failed, read the error and check the refreshed schedule. A post may no longer be eligible for rescheduling or a time may no longer be valid.

You need Editor or Manager access. Reordering does not approve a pending post; its approval requirements still apply.

Choose a Different Time

Open the post in the composer or use the calendar when you need a time that is not already in Coming up. See Moving a Post.

Place Upcoming Content in Planning

You can drag an upcoming post into an empty Planning slot to create a linked planner tile. This keeps its existing schedule. It does not turn the post back into an unscheduled draft.

Dragging a draft onto a Coming up post opens the composer with that post's time selected. Review and complete the scheduling action there; the drag does not replace the existing scheduled post.

You cannot publish a post by dragging it into Posted.

Questions

What happens when I drag a scheduled post in the grid?

Maeve reassigns the existing times to match the new order in Coming up. The earliest position receives the earliest time.

Does dragging give a post a brand new time?

No. Reordering within Coming up uses its existing scheduled times.

Why does the grid work this way?

It lets you change the post order while retaining the existing set of publishing times.

Is the change saved straight away?

Yes. Dropping a post submits the change immediately. Check the updated times and any error message.

Does reordering change anything else about a post?

Reordering changes scheduled times. It does not edit captions or media, or approve pending posts.

Can I drag a scheduled post into the Posted section?

No. Dragging into Posted does not publish content.

How do I give a post a time that is not already in the list?

Open the composer or use the calendar to choose another time.
