Classify a Post

  1. Open the post in the composer.
  2. Find Labels, Content Pillars, and Formats in the metadata row.
  3. Select the values that apply.
  4. Save the post or complete its scheduling action.

Each control supports multiple selections. Creating a category in the Labels section makes it available for selection; it does not assign it to every post.

Where the label picker offers a create control, you can create a label without leaving the post. Creating labels requires Editor or Manager access.

Filter the Calendar

Open the calendar filters and select a label. Combine it with the available status, channel, or campaign filters to narrow the view.

For example, select Product launch and a scheduled status to find upcoming posts carrying that label. Clear the filters when you want to see other posts.

Filter the Content Board

Open the Content Board filter panel and choose labels. Combine them with platform or assignment filters as needed.

Labels also appear on board cards. The footer shows up to four labels before combining additional labels into a count. Open the post to inspect its full classification.

Find Labeled Media

Assign labels to files in the Media Room, then use its label filter to find them again. You can combine labels with the other available media filters.

A post and its attached files have separate label assignments. Applying Product launch to the post does not label its images automatically. Pillars and formats apply to posts only.

Compare Categories in Analytics

  1. Open Analytics and choose your accounts and date range.
  2. Find Content performance on a supported tab.
  3. Select Labels, Groups, Pillars, or Formats.
  4. Compare the post count and available performance metrics for each row.

Available columns depend on the selected platform. They can include reach, views, clicks, engagement, engagement rate, and the last-post date. A hidden metric is not a zero result.

See Posting Times and Content Performance for metric coverage and export steps.

Check What the Report Includes

A post without a pillar does not contribute to a pillar row. It can still contribute to its assigned label or format rows.

Posts with several classifications can appear in several rows. Do not add category totals together and expect them to match the account total. Check assignment coverage before comparing categories across periods.

Hashtag groups do not appear as classification filters or report categories. Inserting their text does not assign a label, pillar, or format.

Questions

Where do I set labels, pillars and formats?

Use the classification controls in the composer metadata row, then save the post or complete scheduling.

Can I create a label without going to settings?

Yes, where the label picker offers a create control. Creating a label requires Editor or Manager access.

Where can I filter by label?

The calendar, Content Board, and Media Room. Label post and media items separately.

Do pillars and formats filter the calendar?

The calendar and Content Board label filters use labels. Pillars and formats are post classifications you can compare in Content performance.

What can I report on?

Content performance groups posts by label, label group, pillar, or format. Available metrics depend on the platform.

What happens to posts I did not classify?

A post without the selected classification is absent from that category breakdown. It can still appear under other classifications assigned to it.

What should I always classify?

Apply the categories you need for filtering and reporting consistently. Check for missing assignments before comparing results.

Do hashtag groups show up in filters or reports?

No. They insert saved text into a post rather than assigning a reporting category.
