When Maeve Cannot Complete a Request

Updated

Read the message in the chat before repeating a request. It may explain an account restriction, a failed step or a change that did not reach the editor.

The assistant shows a credit balance. For billing details, open Settings > Billing & plan > AI credits, or ask an organization Owner, Admin or Finance member to check it. See AI Credits.

If a Response Stops or Fails

  1. Read the error and any completed steps in the conversation.
  2. Check whether the requested draft or edit already exists.
  3. Use the retry control when shown, or send a corrected request.
  4. If the same problem continues, contact [email protected] with the message shown and the action you were attempting.

Retry sends the request again. Checking for a saved draft first helps you avoid creating a second copy when only the response was interrupted.

To stop a response yourself, click Stop turn. Stopping does not undo work that already completed.

If a Caption Change Was Not Applied

Keep the intended editable post open while Maeve works. A changed or closed editor can prevent an update from applying.

If the result says Not applied, check the caption in the editor. Ask again with the correct draft open, or copy the suggested wording into the field yourself. An Updated in the editor result still needs the composer's normal Save or autosave process to keep it.

If Maeve Only Gives Instructions

Some requests are outside the assistant's current actions. Maeve can discuss a Workbench page, but cannot edit the page for you. Scheduling, publishing and inbox replies also require the app's controls.

For a supported action, be explicit. "Save this as a draft" requests a saved post; "Give me a caption idea" requests text in chat.

If Permission Is Denied

Check that you are in the correct workspace and that your role allows the action. Ask a workspace Manager or organization administrator to review your access if needed. Changing autonomy does not bypass role restrictions.

Questions

Why can I not use Maeve during the trial?

Maeve AI is unavailable during the free trial. Access starts with an eligible paid subscription and available credits.

Where do I check AI credits?

The assistant shows the balance. Organization Owners, Admins and Finance members can also open Settings > Billing & plan > AI credits.

Should I retry a failed draft request immediately?

First check whether a draft was already created. Then retry if the requested result is missing.

Does Stop turn undo changes?

No. It stops the current response but does not reverse completed actions.

Why did a caption edit fail?

The editor may have closed or changed, or the action may have been refused. Read the result and check the current caption.

Can changing autonomy fix a permission error?

No. Your role and access still apply at every autonomy level.
