A table in a Doc contains the text you enter. To work with posts and their live statuses, create a Content table.

Edit Together and Check Saving

People with editing access can write in the same Doc at the same time. Their cursors show their names and colors.

Changes save automatically. Check the status above the document: Saving means changes are still being sent; Saved means they have been saved. You do not need to press a save button for the document body.

Handle a Connection Drop

Read the message above the document before continuing.

MessageWhat to Do
ReconnectingYour edits are being kept on this device while Maeve reconnects.
Offline. Changes stay on this device and sync when you reconnect. You can continue writing. Reconnect to sync those changes.
Offline protection unavailableOnline editing can continue, but do not rely on local storage to keep offline changes.
Offline without local protectionWait for the connection to return. The document is read-only.

Offline protection depends on the browser being able to store the document locally. A storage restriction or failure can make it unavailable. Check the message shown rather than assuming that every browser session supports it.

If the Document Becomes Unavailable

Your workspace role and the page's access settings determine whether you can write. Losing access to the page or its private folder stops the document session. If Maeve says you no longer have access, ask the person managing the page or folder to check its settings.

If the message is Document unavailable and a retry control is shown, use it to try loading the document again.

Rename or Favorite a Doc

Use the pencil beside the page title to rename it, then save the new name. Click the star to add or remove the page from your favorites.

Managers and Editors can write in Docs they can access. Other workspace roles can read accessible Docs, with the editing toolbar hidden.
