Managing Multiple Brands With Workspaces

Updated

Create a separate workspace for each brand or client you manage. Each workspace has its own social channels, posts, media, and analytics.

Your organization holds your subscription and team members. One subscription covers all workspaces in that organization.

Creating a Workspace

  1. 1

    Open Settings, then Workspaces

Select New. The count beside Workspaces shows how many you have used against your plan limit. You cannot create another once you reach that limit.

  2. 2

    Enter the workspace name

Use the brand or client name so you can identify it in the workspace switcher.

  3. 3

    Set the timezone

Choose the timezone you want to schedule posts in. For a client in London, choose London even if you work in Sydney. You can change this later in the workspace settings.

  4. 4

    Select Create workspace

Maeve opens the new workspace's calendar. Its board setup comes from your organization's workspace defaults.

Settings, Workspaces. The count beside the heading is what you have used against your plan, and each workspace keeps its own timezone.

Connect the brand's accounts in Settings, Social channels. See Connecting Your Social Channels for the connection steps.

Giving Your Team Access

When you invite someone as an organization Member, select the workspaces they need and assign a role in each. They can only open the workspaces you select. Organization Admins have Manager access to every workspace automatically.

For example, give a freelancer Editor access to the client they manage and Viewer access to a client whose reports they need to read. Follow Invite Your Team and Manage Permissions to send the invite or change their access.

Switching Between Workspaces

Open the workspace switcher at the bottom of the sidebar and select a workspace. Workspaces are grouped by organization.

The workspace switcher at the foot of the sidebar, open. Workspaces sit indented under the organization that owns them, and the check marks the one you are in.

Maeve keeps you in the same section when you switch. If you are viewing one brand's calendar, selecting another workspace opens that brand's calendar.

If you are viewing an individual item, such as a Workbench page, switching opens the section's home instead.

The composer only offers channels connected to the current workspace. To use the same social account in another workspace, connect it there separately.

Setting Defaults for New Workspaces

Open Settings, then Workspaces, and select Board template. Set the content board columns, task columns, and starter tasks you want new workspaces to use.

Changes apply to workspaces you create afterward. Existing workspaces keep their current setup.

Workspace and Connection Limits

Basic includes two workspaces, Standard includes five, and Premium includes unlimited workspaces.

Your social connection limit is shared across the organization. For example, Basic's 20 connections are shared between its two workspaces.

Questions

Does each workspace need its own subscription?

No. One organization subscription covers all its workspaces, up to your plan's workspace limit.

Can someone access only one workspace?

Yes. Invite them as an organization Member and select only that workspace. Choose their workspace role to control what they can do there.

Can the same social account be connected in two workspaces?

Yes. Connect and approve access to the account separately in each workspace.

Do workspace defaults change existing workspaces?

No. They only apply when you create a workspace. Edit an existing workspace's setup separately.

What happens when I delete a workspace?

Deleting a workspace permanently removes it and its posts, media, and analytics. Keep the workspace if you still need its content or history. It will continue to count against your plan limit.
