How the Grid Planner Works

Open Grid Planner to arrange an Instagram feed preview. Select the Instagram account you want to work on from the Account control.

Planning sits above Posted in the feed preview. Coming up is a separate list, ordered by scheduled time with the earliest first.
Scheduled posts do not automatically fill the Planning canvas. Place content on the canvas when you want to include it in the layout you are arranging.
Plan a Layout
- Select an Instagram account.
- Click Add visual mockup or an empty Planning slot.
- Add media or a placeholder.
- Move tiles into the positions you want.
- Compare Planning with the Posted grid below it.
Moving a visual mockup changes its planner position. Reordering posts within Coming up changes real scheduled times. See Reordering Scheduled Posts before moving scheduled content.
Switch Accounts
Use Account to choose another connected Instagram account. Each account has its own planner items, feed history, and snapshot links.
The Grid Planner supports Instagram. Connect an Instagram account if the account picker has none available.
Check Access and Sharing
Editors and Managers can manage planner items, reorder upcoming posts, and edit manual feed history. Creators and Viewers can view the grid.
On Standard or above, Creators, Editors, and Managers can create snapshot links and download a PDF. Viewers cannot share or export the grid.
Sharing captures Planning and Posted as they appear when the snapshot is created. It does not provide client approval controls. Use Client Review Batches when you need approval on posts.
Questions
Which networks does the Grid Planner support?
Instagram.
Can I plan more than one Instagram account?
Yes. Choose another connected Instagram account using Account. Each account has its own planner items, feed, and snapshot links.
What are the three sections?
Planning contains your layout, Posted contains feed history, and Coming up lists scheduled and pending content with publishing times. Drafts are available separately.
Why is the newest thing at the top?
Posted normally shows recent content first, with pinned items first. Coming up uses the opposite order: the earliest scheduled time is first.
Do the sections join up?
Planning and Posted form the feed preview. Coming up is a separate list; scheduled posts do not automatically fill the Planning canvas.
Do I need a particular plan?
Sharing links and exporting a PDF require Standard or above. Those sharing requirements are separate from access to the planner.
Who can edit the grid?
Editors and Managers can manage the grid. Creators can view it and, on Standard or above, share it. Viewers can only view it.
