A page's type is fixed when you create it. Create a separate page if you need a different type.

Create a Page

  1. Open Workbench and click the Create new plus button in the sidebar.
  2. Choose Doc, Canvas or Content table.
  3. Enter a name and choose a location. Select Unsorted if you want to file it later.
  4. Choose Workspace or Private visibility.
  5. Click Create to open the page.

A Workspace page is available to the workspace unless it is inside a private folder. A Private page is only available to its owner, and any private-folder restrictions also apply. See Spaces, Folders and Access for the full access rules.

Find and Organize Pages

Click a page in the sidebar to open it. Spaces can hold pages and folders; folders hold pages and can also sit at the top level. Pages without a space or folder appear in Unsorted.

Use a page's sidebar menu to move it later. Click the star beside an open page's title to add it to your favorites.

Save Your Work

Docs save as you type and support live editing with named cursors. Check the status above the document to see whether your changes are saved or waiting for a connection.

Canvas card edits save when you close the card editor. Content table changes save as you make them. Page settings, such as a name or visibility change, use the Save button in their dialog.

For connection messages and offline writing, see Docs. Those instructions apply to the document editor.

Who Can Edit

Managers and Editors can create and edit Workbench pages. Other workspace roles can read pages they have access to. A workspace role does not override a page's private visibility or a private folder's membership.

Questions

What is the Workbench for?

Use the Workbench to write briefs and notes, collect visual research, and plan posts in content tables.

Doc, Canvas and Content table. Choose the type when you create a page.

Can I change a page's type later?

Docs save as you type. Canvas card edits save when you close the editor, and content table changes save as you make them. Page settings have a Save button.

In a Doc, check the connection message. Edits are kept locally when offline protection is available, then sync when the connection returns.
