How the Board Works

Open Board to see your workspace content grouped by its current stage. Cards move as you work on the posts, including when you request review, schedule them, or publish them.

Read the Columns

Column	What it shows

Nobody dragged anything. Giving the post a time in the composer is what moved the card out of Draft, and the counts on the columns follow it. The five columns and their colours are fixed in the product, so the only thing you can change here is hiding Review.

The five columns have fixed names, colors, and order. You can hide Review through Board Settings.

Open a Post to Work on It

Find the card in its column.
Click it to open the content.
Edit, request review, or schedule it using the available post controls.
Return to the Board to check its stage.

Scheduling a post moves it to Scheduled. Requesting review moves it to Review. Successful publishing moves it to Published. Approval and publishing permissions still apply to these actions.

Before a post has active channel versions, you can choose Idea or Draft yourself. These are the only stages you can set by dragging. See Moving a Card Between Columns.

Selecting channels in the composer does not by itself move an idea to Draft.

Read Posts with Several Channels

With Automatic card grouping, a post stays together while its active channel versions have matching outcomes. If they differ, the Board shows a separate card for each channel.

One post going to four channels, drawn twice. While the four agree it is a single card. Send one channel back to drafting and the board splits the post into four cards, three left in Scheduled and one in Draft, each naming its own account.

Differences in stage or status cause a split. In Review and Scheduled, different scheduled times also cause a split. Published channels can remain grouped even when their publishing times differ.

For example, a post with one channel in review and another scheduled appears in both columns. These cards are channel versions of the same post.

Choose One card per channel in Board settings if you always want them shown separately.

Check Reviews and Failures

Review includes content waiting for approval, approved content that has not moved to scheduling, and content returned for changes.

Find Missing Content

The Board shows content added to it. Most content created in Maeve is added automatically. Drafts created on private Workbench pages can remain off the Board, and posts imported from a social network are excluded.

Archived cards are hidden by default. Review cards also disappear from view when the Review column is hidden. Check filters and column settings before assuming a post is missing.

Use Adding Content to the Board to add eligible existing content. Use the calendar when you need to check publishing dates rather than workflow stages.

Questions

Can I add or rename columns on the Board?

No. Idea, Draft, Review, Scheduled, and Published are fixed. You can hide Review in Board settings.

Why did a card move on its own?

The card follows the post's status. Review, scheduling, and publishing actions can move it automatically.

What decides the column for a post with several channels?

Automatic grouping keeps matching channel versions together. Different stages, statuses, or scheduled times in Review or Scheduled cause separate channel cards.

Why is my failed post still in the Scheduled column?

Its workflow stage may still be Scheduled. Open the card and check the failure details for the affected channel.

What is the difference between Idea and Draft?

They are manual planning stages for content without active channel versions. Use Idea for an initial idea and Draft when preparing it.

When does a card reach Review?

When it enters an internal or client review workflow, including pending approval, returned changes, or approval before scheduling.

Can I hide the Review column?

Yes. Turn off Show review column in Board settings and save. Cards in Review are hidden with it; their review state is unchanged.

Where do archived posts go?

They are hidden by default. Use Archived only or All states in the filter panel.

How is the Board different from the calendar?

The Board groups included content by workflow stage. The calendar focuses on dates, and the two views can include different content.
